Life’s Own Battle

© Emma Jackson

Didn’t want a battle,
Yet you declared war,
Each knock you gave me made me stronger than before,
I will not give up,
I will not give in,
You won’t make me fall,
I won’t let you win.

This poem contains the music of plain speech because the words used are simple and direct to the point. One does not have to think too much about the meaning of the poem. It isn’t complicated as well meaning the reader automatically gets what the poem is about.

The way the author wrote the poem makes it easier for the readers to get the message. Other poems sometimes involve words that are too deep which make it hard for some readers to understand the meaning of the poem.
